December 14, 2018 – Tour of Globe Life Park
December 14, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Oklahoma-based Manhattan Construction Company was selected in 2017 as the construction manager for the new multi-purpose ballpark for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club in Arlington, Texas. Groundbreaking occurred in Sept 2017 and construction is progressing on schedule.
Globe Life Field will be a 42,000-seat major league ballpark. It is a public-private partnership between the Texas Rangers and the City of Arlington. It will be a multi-use entertainment and sports facility with a retractable roof and other related infrastructure.
At the Dec 14, 2018 meeting of the Dallas Electric Club, MCC will provide an overview of the design followed by a walkthrough of the construction site.
During the overview presentation MCC will discuss the overall project schedule and various engineering aspects of the project. An explanation will be given of the multi-purpose facilities incorporated into the overall sight plan. General civil design parameters such as project footprint, material removal, concrete and structural steel requirements will be discussed. Electrical and Mechanical design parameters will be discussed, primarily as they relate to energy requirements of the new facility. Energy efficiency concepts that have been incorporated into the design will also be explained.
Following the formal presentation, a walkthrough of the construction site will take place. This walkthrough will allow attendees to get a firsthand look at the construction progress.
Lunch will follow at Dickey’s on Ballpark Way. Cost is $12.50 and can be paid below.
