Lighting: Legislative Impact & Trends in LED Application
October 10, 2014
Our Speaker, Jerry Cassel, LC, MIES, is GE Lighting’s Market Development Leader, focused towards Lighting Specification, Energy Saving Applications, Eco-Conscious LED and Lighting Solutions. Jerry manages a portfolio of Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and Architectural accounts directly, and through Distribution Partners.
Solid State Lighting (SSL), also called “LEDs”, is transforming the lighting industry in a way unlike anything since the invention of the first commercially-viable incandescent lamp. LEDs are now being applied in almost all traditional applications. Complex, yet versatile, LED technology is providing energy and maintenance economic benefits. Additionally, LEDs when properly applied, aid in enhanced visual performance for occupants. Understanding LED technology and its benefits compared to traditional light sources is essential to a sustainable lighting design.
A case study will be presented on Highbay Lighting Conversion From Metal Halide to LED at GE Power & Water-Dallas Service Center.
Jerry joined General Electric in 1997 as Sr. Program Manager with an extensive background in Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales and Inventory Management through 2002. He was the Senior Specification Engineer through 2009, followed by LED Market Development and Region Sales Management.
