Nov 13, 2015: AEP Texas North Edinburg-Loma Alta Transmission Project
November 13, 2015 @ 11:45 am - 1:00 pm
Teresa’s presentation will be on the development, right-of-way acquisition, engineering, procurement and construction of the North Edinburg to Loma Alta 345 kV Transmission Line Project with a focus on the difficulties associated with this densely populated, hurricane threatened area.
On January 17, 2012, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Board of Directors endorsed and deemed “critical to reliability” a new 345-kilovolt (kV) transmission project from North Edinburg to south McAllen and then near the Port of Brownsville. The project will be jointly constructed by ETT and Sharyland Utilities. ETT is a joint venture between the subsidiaries of American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) and Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company.
After getting her degree in electrical engineering in 1981, and obtaining great experience in control and instrumentation design, field engineering, estimating and scheduling, proposal development, and project engineering, Teresa has been a project manager with AEP for the last 17 of her 24 years with the Company. She transferred from generation to transmission about 5 years ago and her current position is Staff Project Manager. Ms. Trotman is currently managing a new 345 kV transmission line project in the Rio Grande Valley, which is the subject of her presentation. She lives in north Dallas with her husband, Craig, son Travis, and their dog-gone dachshund, Peanut. When not working, Teresa loves to travel or dabble in real estate.
