Artificial Intelligence – Applications in the Electric Utility
This presentation will demystify Artificial Intelligence (AI) – the buzz word that is – and look at some of the endless applications in the utility industry, including:
- Visual inspection of overhead transmission using computer vision
- Defect localization in solar panels
- Vegetation growth monitoring using computer vision
- Demand response forecasting using machine learning techniques
The talk will also shed light on establishing an AI/Machine Learning pipeline to utilize data and processes for your own projects. Pratik will also talk about EPRI’s efforts towards facilitating utility applications by creating a data platform.
